Tonal dressing is the most elegant thing you can do with natural khadi. Match undyed kurta and koti, and the texture becomes the detail.
Look 3 — Striped koti over a plain white shirt (office to evening)
This is the underrated one. Wear a plain white khadi shirt to work, keep a striped koti in the car, and you are dressed for dinner or a puja without going home to change.
Look 4 — Indigo koti + earth tones (the day-function look)
For daytime haldi, mehendi or a garden function, indigo against beige or terracotta photographs beautifully in sunlight.
Look 5 — Soft grey koti for a minimal, modern fit
If you find embroidery too much, go quiet: a muted koti, a stand-collar shirt, straight pants. Minimal, and unmistakably handmade.

How to buy the right koti size
- Size to your shirt, not your blazer. Kotis sit closer to the body — take your usual shirt size.
- Shoulder seam should end at your shoulder bone, not past it.
- Length: the hem should cover your belt line by an inch or two.
- Khadi shrinks slightly on first wash — wash cold, dry in shade, and it stays true.
