The Terra Stripe Shirt is handwoven from 100% handspun khadi cotton and coloured with natural plant dyes: fine brick-red pinstripes set close together on a cream ground, so the cloth reads as a warm rose-tan from across a room and resolves into distinct terracotta lines up close.

Handspun, handwoven khadi

Every metre begins as hand-spun yarn and is woven on a handloom. That is why the surface is never quite uniform: the slubs, the occasional darker fleck and the slight waver in the stripe are the loom’s signature, not a flaw. Khadi breathes in a way mill cotton does not, and softens with every wash instead of wearing out.

What makes the Terra Stripe Shirt different

The stripe is set unusually close, which is what gives the shirt its warm overall tone rather than a hard graphic look. The red is earthy terracotta from a plant dye, never scarlet. Coconut-shell buttons run down a centre placket, each cut from a shell rather than moulded, so no two match exactly.

Natural dyes

The colour may bleed a little in the first few washes and will soften over the first year. That gentle fading is how naturally dyed cloth is supposed to age.

Fit and styling
