Cotton breathes – let it air out between Wears.
The Natural Raw Embroidered Koti is an off-white handwoven khadi Nehru jacket with an embroidered border along the hem and the collar.
Handspun, handwoven khadi
The cloth starts as yarn spun by hand and is woven on a handloom, a few metres at a time. That is why the surface is never perfectly even: the small slubs and the gentle variation in the weave are the mark of the loom, not a flaw. Khadi breathes in a way mill cotton does not, which keeps it comfortable through an Indian summer, and it grows softer with every wash instead of wearing thin. Hand-spun yarn is softer and less tightly twisted than machine-spun yarn, and that is where much of khadi’s comfort comes from.
What makes the Natural Raw Embroidered Koti different
Rows of small geometric motifs in dark thread run around the bottom of the koti and along the band collar, framing a plain off-white body. It turns a simple kurta into an outfit for a festival or a wedding.
Colour and cloth
Left in a clean, light shade, the cloth itself becomes the detail: you can see the handspun yarn and the rhythm of the loom in a way a darker colour hides. Light khadi pairs with almost anything, and it looks better the more it is worn and washed.
Fit and styling
Wear it over the Natural Raw Kurta Set. Sizes S, M, L, XL and XXL.
Made by hand in India
Khadi is the cloth of India’s freedom movement, and it is still made the slow way. The yarn is spun by hand, the cloth is woven on a handloom without power, and every garment is cut and stitched by skilled tailors. Choosing khadi keeps that work alive: it supports the spinners and weavers whose craft has been handed down for generations.
